چکیده
Abstract. Transpressional uplift domains of inverted Pliocene–Pleistocene basin fill along the San Andreas fault zone in Coachella Valley, southern California (USA), are characterized by linkage and segmentation deformation partitioning. The Indio Hills wedge-shaped block is located between two boundary strands, to northeast main southwest, which merge southeast. Uplift commenced about or later than 0.76 million years ago involved progressive fold faulting stages caused a change from distributed strain partly partitioned right-slip reverse/thrust displacement on bounding faults when approaching junction. Major structures study area include oblique, right-stepping, overturned en echelon macro-folds that tighten bend into parallelism with east become more open towards west, indicating an early close relationship late initiation fault. Sets strike-slip reverse step-over right- left-lateral cross conjugate kink bands affect entire uplifted area, locally offset macro-folds. Comparison Mecca Durmid uplifts farther southeast strike Valley reveals notable similarities, but also differences architectures, spatial temporal evolution, mechanisms. present work contributes better understand structure tectonic history major system transform plate boundary.

Modeling evolution of the San Andreas Fault system in northern and central California
[1] We present a three-dimensional finite element thermomechanical model idealizing the complex deformation processes associated with evolution of the San Andreas Fault system (SAFS) in northern and central California over the past 20 Myr. More specifically, we investigate the mechanisms responsible for the eastward (landward) migration of the San Andreas plate boundary over time, a process tha...

Localized and distributed creep along the southern San Andreas Fault
We investigate the spatial pattern of surface creep and off-fault deformation along the southern segment of the San Andreas Fault using a combination of multiple interferometric synthetic aperture radar viewing geometries and survey-mode GPS occupations of a dense array crossing the fault. Radar observations from Envisat during the period 2003–2010 were used to separate the pattern of horizonta...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
